Youth Rock Camp Moab (YRCM) is four days of instrument instruction, band formation, song writing, team building activities and rock and roll fun for youth ages 8-17. YRCM is an affordable, unique, healthy and fun “camp” experience that provides Moab’s youth with a musical education, a network of lifelong friends, and an unforgettable experience. YRCM cultivates a supportive community of peers and mentors, share passions for music and creative expression, and encourage the development of life skills in local youth. This program connects local musicians with youth campers and culminates with a live performance at a rock venue (the MARC!) on the final day.

As a program of KZMU, YRCM provides campers with even more music experience! They will have an opportunity to learn about public broadcasting, writing skills, sound and radio engineering, critical media consumption, and public performance skills. Click here to download the application.

Timeline: Youth Rock Camp Moab runs from March 22nd through March 25th 2016. Each Day will begin at 9am and end at 5pm. Campers days will be packed with fun! In the morning students receive instrument instruction from local musicians and a variety of workshops such as tuning, song writing, loading gear, stage presence, t-shirt making and band photos. The afternoons give them a chance to practice with their bands, play team-building games and attend more workshops. Friday evening is the showcase where the bands perform their original song for family, friends and the community! It’s a great chance for campers to support one another and celebrate all their hard work. Click here to download the application.
