RADIOTHON IS ON!

The air is cooling, the rabbit brush is blooming, and we up at KZMU are gearing up for another Radiothon. Fall’s membership drive starts October 8th and continues through the 16th. 

We’ve all had a trying year; whether it’s navigating ever-changing COVID protocols, watching fires burn near and far, shoring up our homes in preparation for the next flash flood, we’ve all been through it in some way. And through it all, KZMU has been here to provide up to date disaster and emergency information, solace and peace through music and creativity, and a deep sense of connection with the community through the diverse voices of your neighbors – our programmers.

Last Spring, you showed up for us in a record-breaking way, raising nearly $40,000! That support was massive and directly enabled us to grow our News Department by hiring a part time reporter, Justin Higginbottom, and allowed us to get essential broadcast journalism software and hardware. It also enabled us to more equitably compensate our many contributors who bring diverse voices and content to our airwaves – from timely local news stories to long-form interviews from underrepresented people in our community.

It is with a sense of connectedness and humility that we ask you, dear listener, to support KZMU during our last Radiothon of 2021. Our last Radiothon as a 29 year-old independent community radio station in Moab. In April 2022, KZMU will turn 30 and we have all kinds of great things in store for you all year long. Help us finish 2021 strong!
