Native American Pottery and more on Art Talks

On the latest Art Talks, host Richard Codd explores the subject of Native American Pottery. He starts with Edge of the Cedars State Park and Museum, learning about their pottery collection and other related artifacts. Chief of Collections Jonathan Till explains how this ancient pottery was made, used, and how different cultures uniquely adapted their pots to utilize available clays and paints.  The museum has a deep focus on Native culture in the Four Corners region, with a primary interest in the area around San Juan County and Southeastern Utah.

And later, a conversation with potters Roy Vaughan and Wayne Keene, whose work incorporates design aspects from early Native American potters. The pair add an element to their pottery that makes it unique and perhaps the only type of its kind in the world.
