January 14, 2020 | By Admin

(Left): San Francisco’s The Gonks deftly mine the aesthetic of vintage garage rock sounds, from The Kinks to Velvet Underground to The Tronics on their new album Five Things You Didn’t Know About The Gonks, out on Sonny Smith’s label Rocks In Your Head Records. (Right): UK band Field Music just released Making A New World, a 19-track concept album about the after effects of WWI, covering topics as diverse as gender-reassignment surgery, air traffic control, and the advent of sanitary pads for women, all packaged in a lustrous layer of art pop. (Below): Get your cute canine fix in the video for Georgia-born pop band Of Montreal‘s song “Polyaneurism,” off their sixteenth album Ur Fun, out now on Polyvinyl.
