KZMU Tower struck by lightning

By July 12, 2015 September 10th, 2015 News Widget
Lightning struck the KZMU tower on Rocky Road at about 4 pm on Thursday, July 9, as a storm swept through Moab. Rain, hail, gusts of wind of up to 50 miles per hour, and multiple cloud-to-ground lightning strikes characterized the unusally fierce weather event.

The strike caused damage to the KZMU transmission chain, as well as audio and internet equipment. But as of Friday, July 10, KZMU can be heard on both 90.1 and 106.7 FM, and as of Friday evening, we’re streaming at kzmu.org.

Thanks to all the folks who are are helping.
