Date of event: September 10 and 12, 2019
Location: MOAB REGIONAL HOSPITAL, EDUCATION ROOM 2
Grand County Hospice is excited to host our Annual Volunteer Training on September 10th and 12th from 5:30pm-7:30pm each evening. This training is free and open to the community and dinner will be served. Please attend if you are interested in volunteering or if you would like more information about hospice. Grand County Hospice staff will provide an interactive educational experience that will prepare community members to help care for the dying and their families in their home. If you have ever experienced hospice in your personal life, you certainly understand the compassion and support it offers. We would like to invite you to share your talents with our patients and families and experience the reward inherent in this work. Participation in no way commits you to volunteering; we welcome anyone who wants a better understanding of hospice.
Topics covered in this training will include: the history and philosophy of hospice, the hospice team approach, physiological, emotional and spiritual aspects of terminal disease and death, comfort measures, grief, communication, boundaries, family dynamics and rituals.
Please register for the event by contacting Jessica Walsh. Space is limited, sign-up early!
