Ethical Study of Tribal Forests

The community wants to prioritize cultural and spiritual connections to the land within the Navajo Nation forest department. Jaime Yazzie is trying to make that happen. As a scientific analyst with the Laboratory of Tree Ring Research, Yazzie studies Tribal forests, with an emphasis on kinship, harmony and balance even though it’s a real struggle to connect those ideas directly to a management objective, or a management strategy.
