DJ Spotlight: Professor Purple

 DJ NAME: Professor Purple
 SHOW NAME: Amarillo Highway
TUNE IN: 9 to noon Mountain time, Tuesday
TIME ON THE AIR AT KZMU: 22 years
BRIEF BIO: Rattled around the Western Hemisphere as a child. College in California and then I stayed there for 30 years to work in various endeavors I'd rather keep dark. Moved to Castleton in 1998 and I have no interest in leaving until they haul me off in a cheap cardboard box.
WHAT CAN LISTENERS EXPECT FROM YOUR SHOW?:The very best neo-insurgent left-wing alternatwang multi-ethnic North American hillbilly honky tonk music with the dirt left on.

FILL IN THE BLANK: Community Radio makes: Moab and environs a much better place. Information, music, and stimulation that's a bit quirky and reflective of your friends and neighbors, not corporate algorithms.
BEST ON-AIR MOMENT: Getting an email during the show from a listener in Wales who was enjoying the music. Not on the air, but I was once told by someone that Amarillo Highway taught them to like hillbilly music.
IF YOU WERE A PIECE OF OUTDATED AUDIO EQUIPMENT WHAT WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?: A 78 rpm disc because I spin around real fast but don't get very far; I am accompanied by an underlying layer of pops, crackles and farts; and I don't last more than 4 minutes.
