DJ Spotlight Jan. 10, 2020: DJ Lint Trap

By January 10, 2020 January 31st, 2020 No Comments
 DJ Name: DJ Lint Trap
Show Name: Kokopelli Coffeehouse
Time on the air at KZMU: First 3 Sundays of the month, 7-9 p.m.

Brief Bio: Oregon transplant with a love for crossfit, poutine, modern R&B, and hanging with my doggo, Finley. My current goal is to write and take photos more consistently.

Elevator Pitch/what can listeners expect from your show?: Moody upbeat music—I enjoy lyrics that evoke emotion and beats that prompt movement. It’s almost a guarantee that 80
percent of my music choices will have you tapping your feet and/or nodding your head.

How would you describe your show to your grandma?: If it doesn’t make you want to get up and move, then I haven’t succeeded.

Who is your #1 fan?: My dog, Finley—I kind of wanted to get a radio to put in my room so he could have the option to listen to me while I’m gone. But then I thought about how
egotistical that would actually be.

Top 10 albums from the last decade (can be the same as list for newsletter):

These aren’t in any particular order, and I could honestly go on forever. I’m clearly partial to 2019 because it’s the freshest in my head.

1)    Jamila Woods – “HEAVN”
2)    Sampa the Great – “The Return”
3)    FKA Twigs – “MAGDALENE”
4)    Little Dragon – “Ritual Union”
5)    Burna Boy - “African Giant”
6)    Anderson.Paak – “Venice”
7)    Megan Thee Stallion – “Fever”
8)    Little Simz – “GREY Area”
9)    Nilufer Yanya – “Miss Universe”
10)  Mereba – “The Jungle Is The Only Way Out”

Desert Island Album/Artist: DRAMA. I never get tired of any of their songs.

Guilty Pleasure Album/Artist/Song: Aly & AJ – too catchy.

Fill in the blank: Community Radio makes me happy to be a part of it all! It’s awesome seeing such a diverse group of people getting together for a common cause.
The fact that the common cause is music is all-the-more exciting.

Best or worst on-air moment: Anytime a CD is claimed to be “FCC Clean” and I play a song that very clearly isn’t. Oh, and extended moments of silence eat me up inside.

If you were a piece of outdated audio equipment what would you be and why: A Discman: Seemingly functional until something sleeker came out.
