DJ Spotlight Dec. 20, 2019: The Immigrant

DJ NAME: The Immigrant
SHOW NAME: Drive Time
TUNE IN: Wednesday 4-6p
TIME ON THE AIR AT KZMU: 20 years since 2000, yup, wow!

BRIEF BIO: Immigrated to US from Scotland in 1988 landing in NYC before spells in Myrtle Beach, SC, Atlanta GA, Palm
Beach FL, Aspen CO before arriving in Moab in 1997 to start the Red Rock Bakery. Became a DJ in 2000 after submission
of a demo cassette submitted to the Programming Committee. Was trained by long time manager/station legend Jeff
Flanders and cohosted the original Drive Time which was three hours long Thursdays 3-6. Moved to Wednesdays
in 2006.

WHAT CAN LISTENERS EXPECT FROM YOUR SHOW?: The unexpected in that I have really dedicated much of my
precious air time to new music. It is a drive time show so I usually rev up the action at 5pm for about 30 minutes of
rocking music, no sleeping at the wheel... Really work on not getting boxed into any one genre of music so it’s
across the board.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOW TO YOUR GRANDMA?: Not likely her cup of tea unless Willie Nelson has
another new release!

WHO IS YOUR #1 FAN?:Hopefully not the FCC (kidding)

DESERT ISLAND ALBUM: U2 The Joshua Tree

FILL IN THE BLANK: Community Radio makes: the universe dance!

BEST OR WORST ON-AIR MOMENT: Best: Giving up airtime to allow Amy Goodman do a live on air interview (Not even
with me) Worst: Any time receiving a call from manager about f-bombs dropped....oops
