BRIEF BIO: I love hula hooping, rock climbing, dancing to most genres of music and building community through art, music and culture. Got my DJ name cuz I once had a bike powered blender, and have been known to travel with a Vitamix, ready to make green smoothies at every turn. Bred by New Yorkers, and raised at the beaches and in the malls of Los Angeles, I loved nerding out on the latest in the LA music scene, and grew up on a mix of AM and FM, listening to Jim Ladd’s The 7th Day on KLOS, and New Wave music on KROQ in LA. My DJ influences include Joe Frank, Jason Bentley,  Rachel Steele and Dr. Demento.

BRIEF BIO: I’ve been a KZMU DJ since May of 2021. I had been coming to the station to do
the weekly newsreel with KZMU reporters and found the idea of having a music show
compelling. I moved to Moab in 2018 after being named editor of The Times-Independent, a job I still
hold. While my position has been fulfilling, I took it because I wanted to live in Moab, where the
scenery is beautiful and so are the people. Most of them, anyway.

WHAT CAN LISTENERS EXPECT FROM YOUR SHOW?: Pickers & Poets, features songs
from the Americana and alt-country genres, with a focus on solid acoustic instrumentation and
soul-piercing lyrics. I enjoy this brand of music and I love to share it with KZMU listeners.

What is your favorite KZMU show?: Fire on the Mountain with Gypsy Jaq. We both share a very strong love for the Grateful Dead, and I adore that deadhead connection.
